Fort Bowie, AZ
Fort Bowie, a part of Old West history!
This is a beautiful daytrip activity from our B&B with a hike included.
Historical events surrounding this fort include the Lt John Parke Camp Site
of the Topographical Engineers Corp, the Bascom Affair, the Butterfield Overland
Mail route, the Chiricahua Apache Indian Agency, Emigrant Trail, Geronimo,
and the Battle of Apache Pass.
Apache Spring started it all, without this life giving water source
the fort would not be here. Fort ruins include the cemetary, trader store,
quarters, school, adjutant's office, infantry & cavalry barracks, hospital,
tailor shop, mess hall, and pump house.
