Hummingbird Gallery
Tucson is blessed to be on a main Hummingbird migratory route.
These little wonders chase each other around our nectar feeders.
They are black ones, irridescent green ones, some with patches
of red, purple or blue. They love our local plants like Salvia,
and Trumpet vines. They zip through the neighborhood. sometimes
within just a couple of feet of humans.
The nests of these tiny birds are even tinier. The pictures below
are from our back porch on a ficus tree branch. The whole nest is
about the size of a half-dollar.
